ABOUT ME
From fantastical stories about the cats and hens in my family's backyard to full-length novels, I've always loved telling stories.
My writing journey began in second grade with short stories I taught myself to type on my parents' old desktop. In high school, I wrote my first full-length novel, a historical romance which I was unbearably proud of until I reread it a few years later.
In 2021, I began writing the first draft of what would become The Towers' Princess, a high fantasy with villains who think they're heroes, morally dark main characters, and feminist themes. Think Namina Forna's The Gilded Ones meets The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller. One trope I enjoyed deconstructing was "evil is ugly" and subverting those expectations with beautiful, treacherous characters and "monsters" capable of kindness and compassion.
When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading (my all-time favorites include Tad Williams, Sean Russell, Naomi Novik, and more recently, Namina Forna), arts and crafts, fashion, and making my own clothes.
